Lymphedema: A Patients Story

We will feature patient’s stories in this section. If you would like to present a story please fill out a Contact card and we will contact you to obtain your story.

Here we are featuring Sharon Shepard.

Sharon was diagnosed with bilateral early-stage breast cancer in 2017, requiring removal of five sentinel lymph nodes to check them for cancer. She was provided a lymphedema awareness seminar after surgery and knew that Lymphedema could show up years, or decades after damage to the lymphatic system. In 2018 a mosquito bite launched her lymphedema due to an allergic reaction.
